Dr. Dara Morrison:
I was born and raised in Park Ridge, Illinois, educated at Elmhurst College, and finally ventured south to Champagne/Urbana to pursue veterinary medicine. At last, I graduated with my DVM in 1979 and left southern Illinois, with bells on.
This was a dream come true! I had always desired to be a veterinarian - however, squeezing glands was not predicted in my childhood dream. My career began in an emergency veterinary clinic, where long hours and strange clients taught me the finer points of doctorhood. In 1983 my second dream came true as I gave birth to my first daughter, Lisa. Six years later, we followed up with Dominique and then Braiden. Balancing motherhood, wifedom, and medicine became quite a challenge. In order to devote the majority of my time being a mom, I did relief work at various clinics and even worked at night at the animal ER.
Despite strong sentiments towards the Chicago Bears, we made the wise decision to move to Wisconsin and have remained here, happily, for over eleven years. Since our arrival, I have worked for several clinics doing primarily relief work. For the past six years, I have worked in the pleasant and nurturing environment provided by Family Pet Clinic. I can say, with all sincerity, that I am proud to be part of such a wonderful practice.
Our animal family at home consists of Tinkerbelle, a ball python, too many finches, Sparky the wonder horse, and a (wo)man's best friend, Fancy, my dog.
Dr. Carolyn Bernier:
Dr. Bernier was born in Heidelberg, Germany and moved to Fond du Lac in the late 60's. She graduated from UW-Oshkosh as a music major. Dr. Bernier then entered the US Army in 1988 and was trained as a Arabic translator. She served her country in the Gulf War from 1990-1991 and finished her military service in 1993. Upon return she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from UWO and worked on several large dairy farms in Fond du Lac area prior to attending veterinary school at UW-Madison.
From 2004-2008 Dr. Bernier has worked at clinics in Beaver Dam, Reedsville and Madison. She shares her home with a host of furry felines.
Outside the clinic Dr. Bernier enjoys Packer and Brewer games, classical music, theatre, movies, and collecting baseball cards. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery and feline medicine and behavior.
